98 games ago – Navarre 32, Gulf Breeze 0 (2011)

Raiders (5-5, 3-2) finished the 2011 season on the road against their Santa Rosa County rival. After a scoreless first quarter, the offense put it together and scored 32 straight points in the shutout for their fifth straight win against the Dolphins.

This would be the last game coached by Chad Lashley. He would finish his tenure at 22-21 overall; but most importantly, he guided the Raiders to their first two playoff wins in school history and their first ever Region Final.

Dusty Jones passed for 169 yards in the game and finished the season with 2,315 yards passing and 17 TDs (2,503 yards/19 TDs in his career).

Dwayne Carter rushed for 212 yards and 2 TDs in the game to run his season total to 1,317 yards and 22 TDs (3,021 yards/42 TDs in his career). Dwayne’s 6 TDs in a game in 2011 is tied for first all-time and his yardage and rushing TDs rank second all-time in Navarre history.

Brad Leggett hauled in 5 receptions for 86 yards and a score finishing his season with 768 yards on 55 catches and 9 TDs (118 receptions/1,743 yards/20 TDs for his career). Brad is currently the Raider record holder for career receptions with 118 and his 20 TD receptions rank second all-time.

Jay Warren led the defense in the game with 10 tackles (8 solo/2 assists) and Connor Brantley added 2 sacks. Additionally, Johnny Robinson-Pettus would his finish his career with 121 tackle points.

Navarre outscored their opponents 329-275 in 2011.

99 games ago – Mosley 49, Navarre 20 (2011)

Raiders (4-5, 3-2) went on the road to Panama City for their last District game of the season. With a win, Navarre would have put themselves in a three way tie for the District Title. But, the Raiders found themselves down 35-14 at the half and were unable to stop the misdirection offense of the Dolphins. Mosley finished the night with 370 yards rushing on 54 carries and 6 touchdowns and picked off Dusty Jones four times in the win.

Jones still threw for 263 yards and 2 TDs. Marquis Hagewood hauled in 6 receptions for 112 yards and a score and Jordan Leggett added 4 receptions for 105 yards and a TD in the loss.

Jay Warren led the defense with 17 tackles (10 solo/7 assists), Demetrius Brown with 10 (8 solo/2 assists) and Virgilio Hunter contributed 10 tackles (4 solo/6 assists) as well.

100 games ago – Navarre 35, Fort Walton Beach 14 (2011)

Raiders (4-4) went on the road and jumped out to 28-14 lead at the half against their District opponent. The defense did the rest in the second half for the victory.

Dusty Jones finished the game with 296 yards passing on 21-29 with a TD and 2 picks. Dwayne Carter led the way on the ground as he rushed 174 yards on 17 carries with 3 TDs. (963 yards, 20 TDs in last 5 games). Brad Leggett finished the night with 9 receptions for 112 yards and a score.

On defense, Demetrius Brown produced 12 tackles (10 solo/2 assists/3 Ints), Jay Warren with 12 tackles (5 solo/7 assists/sack) and Devin Colonel with 10 (3 solo/7 assists). David Docarmo went 5-5 XPs.

Navarre’s Jeremiah Chavis-Mhoon receives first offer

Navarre Raider offensive lineman Jeremiah Chavis-Mhoon received his first collegiate offer this morning from Albany State (GA).  Jeremiah is a rising senior and will be a third year starter for Navarre this Fall.

Albany State is a member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in Division 2.  They finished as the Conference runner-up the last two years.  In 2018, they suffered a 50-23 loss to Miles College and also lost to the Golden Bears in 2019, 21-6.

Grady Kelly commits to Colorado State

Navarre DL Grady Kelly with one of his seven sacks on the night.

Navarre’s DL Grady Kelly will join Navarre Alum Dante Wright in 2021 after committing to Colorado State earlier today.

Grady set the Navarre Raider record for sacks (18) in a season and sacks in a game (7) in 2019.  He is currently #2 all-time on the career sack list with 19 (only 1.5 sacks behind Josh Carter).

Kelly will be heading home to play his college ball in Fort Collins, as he was born in nearby Greeley.

101 games ago – Navarre 42, Crestview 23 (2011)

Raiders (3-4) overcame 14 penalties for 136 yards to win their home conference game against the Bulldogs. The game was tight in the first half as Navarre went to the half up 21-17, then they outscored Crestview 21-6 in the second half for the victory.

Dusty Jones had another big game as he passed for 314 yards (3rd most in Raider history), going 18-28 with 2 touchdowns. Dwayne Carter continued his hot streak with 145 yards on 20 carries and 3 TDs (giving him 789 yards and 17 TDs in his last four games). Jordan Leggett (7 receptions, 100 yards) and Marquis Hagewood (6 receptions, 100 yards, TD) did their part to stretch the field in the win.

Demetrius Brown led the Navarre defense with 14 tackles (9 solo/5 assists/TFL) and Jay Warren contributed 10 (6 solo/4 assists/TFL). David Docarmo went 5-5 on XPs and Marcus Winebrenner went 1-1.

102 games ago – Choctaw 50, Navarre 47 (2011)

The Raiders (2-4) played in the highest scoring game (both teams) in school history. Navarre fell behind at the half 28-24. The Indians would stretch the lead out to 23 (47-24) early in the fourth quarter. But with less than 10 minutes to go in the game, the Raiders mounted a furious comeback. Two rushing TDs by Dwayne Carter and a 44-yard fumble recovery return for a score by DL Boston Morgan, as well as two 2-point conversions and the game was now tied at 47. With time winding down, Choctaw would get a late field goal for the wild victory.

QB Dusty Jones completed 22 of 37 passes for 303 yards and Carter would add 119 yards rushing and 5 TDs (giving him 14 TDs and 644 yards rushing in the last three games). WR Brad Leggett hauled in 9 receptions for 109 yards in the loss.

DB Demetrius Brown led the defense with 9 tackles (7 solo/2 assists) and DL Virgilio Hunter pitched in 9 tackles (solo/8 assists) as well. K David Docarmo added 7 points on the night, going 4-4 on extra points and was good on his only field goal attempt from 38 yards out.

The Raiders (2-3) finish up a four game home stand at 1-3. Navarre gets out to a quick start to take a 17-7 lead after one quarter. But the Crusaders outscored the Raiders 22-7 in the second to take a 29-24 lead to the half. The momentum continued for Catholic in the second half as they stymied the Navarre offense for the win.
 
RB Dwayne Carter had his second straight outstanding game as he rushed for 218 yards on 16 carries and 3 TDs; giving him 525 yards and 9 TDs in his last two games.
 
LB Jay Warren led the defense with 16 tackles (11 solo/5 assists), LB Gunnar Casey pitched in 13 tackles (6 solo/7 assists/sack/TFL), DB Demetrius Brown with 12 (8 solo/4 assists) and LB Andrew Rieves with 11 (2 solo/9 assists) in the loss.

105 games ago – Navarre 56, Niceville 33 (2011)

The Raiders (2-2) won a big district match-up with the Eagles. Both teams put up 14 points in the first quarter, but Navarre would outscore Niceville in a wild second to take a 42-27 halftime lead. The Raiders added two more scores in the fourth to secure a 23-point win.

Navarre had troubles running the ball in the first three games of the season, but that was not an issue on this night as RB Dwayne Carter broke the school record with 307 yards on 25 carries. This record would stand until 2016, when it was broken by his younger brother, Michael. Dwayne also found the end zone six times on the ground (also a school record, tied with Michael).

QB Dusty Jones contributed 150 yards passing and two touchdowns through the air and 93 yards on 13 carries. WR Brad Leggett was his favorite target with 6 receptions for 129 yards and two scores. The Raiders amassed 428 yards rushing and 578 yards of total offense in the game.

LB Devin Colonel was the leading tackler with 15 tackles (8 solo/7 assists/sack) and DE Connor Brantley would add 8 tackles (6 solo/2 assists/2 TFL/sack).
