This was the only game that I have not broadcasted since I started full-time back in 2009, as I was out of town to catch my son’s game in Wilberforce, Ohio, against Central State.

Navarre beat Gulf Breeze for the second straight year behind QB Jeff VanCamp (played at Florida Atlantic) and would go on to beat Gulf Breeze nine straight years before the streak would end in 2016.
 
Billy Mitchell would sign with the Marshall Thundering Herd; where he would be a 3-year starter at outside/inside linebacker. He attended Navarre as a freshman before his family moved to Oregon for two years (where he was All-State in Track) after Hurricane Dennis hit the Florida Panhandle. But he returned for his senior season.
