The Raiders (1-0) start the season with a win on the road against the Crusaders. With the loss of QB Sage Chambers to graduation, Navarre had to fill a big void at QB1. In steps Marlon Courtney III to take over after their family moved back into the Navarre area. Didn’t take him long to feel right at home.

Courtney completed 12-16 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns and backup QB Garon Finley tossed a touchdown as well. Both Dante Wright (four receptions) and Tyler England (six receptions) totaled 87 yards receiving, with Wright finding the end zone twice. On the ground, Chris Williams rushed for 113 yards on 19 carries and Courtney and Jaydin Antonio each added a rushing touchdown.

On defense, the Raiders were led by Nathan Crews seven solo tackles and Josh Carter contributed six (4 solo/2 assists). Navarre had nine tackles for loss and two sacks in the game as they pressured Catholic’s Colin Whibbs all night long. Kevin Taich went 5-5 on extra points.
