Damon played D2 ball at Carson-Newman in Jefferson City, Tennessee. Later, joined the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent and made it to their practice squad in his first and only season.
Devin started playing sports at an early age…soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. His 8th Grade year, he began throwing the shot put and discus on the Track and Field team. Upon entering high school, he has been a three-sport athlete; baseball, track and football. On the football field, he has played quarterback, running back, tight end and over the last two years as a starting linebacker for the Raiders.
His Freshman year, his best memory was beating Milton in the final game of the season to finish the year undefeated. After his Freshman season was complete, he was called up to the Varsity team for the playoffs, where he saw some action.
Devin has been a 2-year starter on Varsity for the Raiders. He led Navarre in tackles his junior season, which garnered him Class 7A, All-State 3rd team honors as a linebacker. He has a simple goal going into every year…to work harder than the year before and help his team wherever possible.
In the off-season, he has not rested on his laurels; Devin has been playing with the C3 Sports 7-on-7 travel team, where he has been focusing on increasing his overall quickness and footwork.
Academics have always been put on an extremely high pedestal for this young man…which is reflected by his invites to visit Yale and Cornell this summer. There are a few other Ivy League schools that have shown interest and he has also been in communication with the University of Louisiana, Arkansas State and Colorado State.
In my opinion, this is just the beginning for Devin, and I think that his future is very bright. So, make sure that you have plenty of batteries for your remote control, because this young man will be playing on Saturdays, just like his older brother.
