Zach Marquis passed for 122 yards and a TD and was the leading ground carrier with 68 yards and a score; but was picked off three times in the loss. Trent Hall and Jebari Mitchell each contributed a touchdown reception.

Mekhi Domino led the Raider defense with 12 tackles and Sebastian Melendez added ten. Navarre had 13 tackles for loss and two sacks. But when they weren’t getting to Creed Whittemore, he completed 15 of 27 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns (all to Quan Lee), who was unstoppable on the night, with 7 receptions for 220 yards.

The 2020 season was delayed due to COVID-19, then it was pushed back another week as Hurricane Sally threatened the Gulf Coast, eventually cancelling Navarre’s match-up with Milton.

Jaden Rivera rushed for 145 yards and two scores and the Raider defense limited the Patriots to 172 yards of total offense (99 passing/73 rushing). Devin Wright led the way with ten tackles. Grady Kelly added five quarterback hurries as well. Unfortunately in the game though, Navarre lost OL Jeremiah Chavis-Mhoon to a season ending injury.

As I was on the road (first game I have missed in over 10 years), Heath Childs filled in for me as he teamed up with Bob Grant. The Raiders didn’t disappoint the home crowd as they put up 45 points in the first half.

Marlon Courtney III only completed nine passes (9-13, 221 yards), but six of them went for touchdowns (school record). Four of those TD passes went to Tyler England (5 receptions, 129 yards). The four touchdown receptions for England is also a school record.

Jeffery Mattox led the Navarre defense with ten tackles. England also tied a school record with three interceptions on the night. Preston Penton had a perfect night as he went 7-7 on extra points and made his only field goal attempt from 39 yards out.

The Apaches won the game on the scoreboard, but unfortunately they played an ineligible player and the Raiders were awarded the victory (box score is attached).

It was the Raiders rushing attack that subdued the Lions on this night as Jaden Rivera contributed 212 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns and Jaydin Antonio added 153 yards on 20 carries and a score.

Bailey Huston led the defense with nine tackles and Preston Penton added three field goals on four attempts, the longest from 42 yards.

Navarre beat Walton for the second straight year and lead the overall series, 4-1. The only loss came against the Braves in 1999 (62-29).
