Rural Schools moving to SSAA

Chipley High School becomes the latest Panhandle Rural school to move from the FHSAA to the Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA). Currently, there are only 18 teams left in the Rural Classification (that number be dropping in the very near future).  

Per Palatka Daily News reporter, Corey Davis, the list has grown to 51 teams since the 2025 High School football season concluded that have joined the Atlantic Division of the SSAA.  Overall, almost 200 schools have joined the SSAA.

The FHSAA Board of Directors will be holding an emergency meeting this coming week to discuss the current status of Class Rural, Class 1A and Independents in the State of Florida.

Lady Raiders Soccer

Lady Raiders faced off against Pace in the Class 6A, District 1 semifinals on Thursday night.

Navarre jumped out to 2-0 lead 13 minutes into the game. The Lady Patriots battled back and tied it 2-2 with 10 minutes to go in regulation.

After two scoreless overtime periods, Pace prevailed in penalty kicks, moving on to the District Championship.

Navarre falls to 10-8-2 on the season.

Navarre Football Hirings

Michael Harper
Tommy Roberts

Navarre High School (FL) has hired Michael Harper as their new offensive coordinator. He comes to Navarre from New Hope HS in Alabama. Coach Harper stepped down as Head Coach after going 5-15 (4-12 Class 4A, Region 8) in two seasons.

New Offensive Line Coach Tommy Roberts joins the Navarre Raiders coaching staff. Roberts comes to Navarre after coaching at Booker T. Washington in Pensacola.
