84 days (12 weeks) to kickoff of the 2023 Florida High School football season as the Navarre Raiders will host the Catholic Crusaders on 25 Aug 2023 at the comfy confines of Bennett C. Russell Stadium.

Navarre…14 21 0 7 – 42

The Raiders scored early and often in this contest, but unfortunately in the second quarter they lost RB Michael Carter to a season ending leg injury. Up to that point, Michael had produced 73 yards on 10 carries and a TD and turned a short reception into a 55-yard score.

Time for the next man up and that would be Hasaan Williams, who filled in nicely as he rushed for 163 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown. Both of his receptions resulted in scores as well.

The Raiders defense was up to the task as well as they recorded their first of two shutouts on the season as they were led by Xavier Fernandez (12 tackles, 2 sacks, TFL) and Aaron Mitchell (10 tackles, TFL). Navarre finished with 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks on the night.
